Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about athletes, schools, and brands.
Understand what Jaylen does, who he supports, what each deliverable includes, and how to get started. Education and media IP guidance only - not legal advice, not athlete representation.
What services does Jaylen Sinegal provide?
Services include brand strategy and positioning, athlete and family brand architecture, NIL and music licensing education, media copyright and facility audits, content strategy and creative direction, sponsorship development and sales, community and partnership marketing, market research, business development, and speaking and keynotes.
Is Jaylen Sinegal a sports agent?
No. Jaylen provides brand strategy, media education, and IP consulting. He is not a licensed sports agent and does not solicit, negotiate, or procure athletic contracts, sponsorships, or employment. Education, not representation. Families keep control of their accounts and assets.
What is Athlete Advisory?
A 1-on-1 engagement for athletes and families. Step 1 is the Film & Profile Check: we review Hudl, Instagram, and X the way a college recruiter would. Step 2 is the Green / Yellow / Red Report Card telling you what to clean up, what to pin to the top, and what music to remove so you never get copyright-banned. Step 3 is the Family Vault: a private, family-owned library of raw 4K footage that never gets locked into a third-party platform. It includes platform lock-in analysis (Hudl terms red-flagged), Louisiana Act 810 consent, and a written action plan. It begins with an intake and legal boundary form, then the brand strategy call.
What is Institutional Education?
Institutional Education serves high schools, athletic directors, and clubs. Clinics cover Louisiana Act 810 and LHSAA bylaw compliance, DMCA safe-harbor workflows for highlight content, and master versus sync rights in highlight reels, plus an optional athletic department media and copyright risk audit.
What is a media copyright and facility audit?
An audit produces written findings: where the athlete, family, or school appears today, platform and licensing risk such as Hudl terms and unlicensed music in video, consent gaps, and prioritized next steps. The family or school keeps control of every asset and account.
What do NIL, master, sync, and the other terms mean?
A plain-English glossary for the terms used here. Educational aid, not legal definitions.
- NIL - name, image, and likeness: the identity rights tied to an athlete's commercial use, governed in Louisiana by Act 810.
- Master - the actual sound-recording file and who owns it.
- Sync license - permission to pair a song with moving images; buying the song does not grant it.
- Neighboring rights - performance-side royalties tied to a recording, adjacent to copyright.
- Fair use - a limited defense for using copyrighted material, not a blanket permission.
- DMCA - the US statute behind takedowns and safe-harbor workflows for online content.
- Hudl - a sports media platform; read its terms before assuming you own your highlights.
- Platform lock-in - losing control of content because one platform keeps it.
Are there free resources I can download?
Yes. The free resource library includes an Act 810 NIL consent checklist, an agent-verification checklist, a music-rights reference for highlight reels, a sample brand & IP audit, and more. PDFs are delivered to your inbox, and you can unsubscribe anytime.
How do athlete families get started?
Browse the free resources, then choose an entry point on the home page. Families typically start with Athlete Advisory: request a call, complete the intake and legal boundary form, then schedule the brand strategy conversation. Schools and clubs start with Institutional Education.
Who do you help?
Jaylen supports athletes, families, and schools through brand architecture, NIL and music licensing education, and media audits. He also serves Louisiana brands, home-service businesses, professional experts, destinations, hospitality brands, and community-focused organizations.
Do you work only in Broussard and Lafayette?
The primary service area includes Lafayette, Youngsville, and Acadiana. Work spans across Louisiana and the Gulf Coast, with clinics and speaking available anywhere travel allows.
What will I receive after a consultation?
Every engagement states its deliverables up front. Athlete Advisory (athlete and family brand architecture) delivers the Recruiter-Ready Social & Film Audit, a 1-page Green / Yellow / Red Report Card, a family-owned Private Highlight Vault, and a written action plan. Institutional Education (schools) delivers a written NIL and media compliance risk audit, a music-clearance guide for your media team, and the clinic itself. Speaker bookings deliver the keynote plus the speaker one-sheet for your planners and press. Free downloads deliver the completed document or template you keep. Scope and pricing are confirmed before any work begins.
Do you offer paid advertising, SEO, or marketing campaigns?
No. The work is education and consulting only: athlete and family brand architecture, NIL and music licensing clinics, media copyright and facility audits, and speaking. No paid campaigns, no guaranteed outcomes, and no athlete representation.
Can I submit music for you to pitch or promote?
Music is not accepted for pitching or promotion through the general contact form. The Find a Producer directory remains in pre-launch, and no music submissions or membership payments are being accepted.
